Business Systems Analyst
About the role
The Business Systems Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the Information Technology team, ensuring technology solutions align with operational needs and strategic objectives. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements; identifying process improvement opportunities; supporting software implementations; and facilitating the successful adoption of technology solutions across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support enterprise software implementation initiatives through planning, coordination, user engagement, and adoption activities.
- Deliver end-user training and provide ongoing support during system deployments and technology rollouts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for end-user questions, feedback, and issue escalation throughout implementation efforts.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, process flows, functional specifications, and user needs.
- Partner with operational leaders and field personnel to identify business challenges and process improvement opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into clear and actionable documentation for technical teams and project stakeholders.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Aid in evaluating, prioritizing, and recommending technology solutions that align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with development teams, application administrators, vendors, and business stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Support testing, implementation, change management, and user acceptance activities for new systems and enhancements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization to identify emerging business needs and opportunities.
- Build and maintain project documentation, training materials, user guides, and process documentation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or at least 4 years of experience in business analysis, system analysis, software implementation, or a related role.
- Experience facilitating end-user training, software deployments, or technology adoption initiatives.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and process workflows.
- Experience identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Experience collaborating with and presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and business process documentation tools.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% during major implementation and deployment phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or at least 4 years of experience in business analysis, system analysis, software implementation, or a related role.
- Experience within the environmental services, waste management, transportation, logistics, industrial services, or field service industries.
- Knowledge of WasteLinq or similar waste management, route management, field service, or enterprise software platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise software implementations, upgrades, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Information Technology, Operations, Finance, and Field Services.
- Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies and requirements management best practices.
- Experience with project management, user acceptance testing, and change management activities.

Pay
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 and includes benefits such as the following:

While the exact schedule is not specified, the role involves significant travel to support operational sites, stakeholder meetings, training activities, and project initiatives. The noise level in the primary work environment is generally quiet. The individual will regularly be required to talk, hear, see, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
