Business Systems Analyst

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare requirements, specifications and recommendations facilitating improved business processes in ERP systems to improve productivity and accountability.
  • Congduct information gathering sessions with customers and team members.
  • Evaluate, implement and support new developments/enhancements in ERP systems including MUNIS, eGOV, eCivis, Legistar, UKG, Brightly, ActiveNet.
  • Evaluate and analyze new releases; recommend enhancements to existing applications.
  • Provide level II help desk support.
  • Manage documentation (Process Design Documents, Work Step Instructions, and Configuration/System) and training system updates.
  • Develop and provide user training as required.
  • Develop functional specifications associated with system enhancements RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms, and Workflows) for ERP systems.
  • Support business units including break/fix, how-to expertise, minor enhancements, monitoring and testing of the live financial business requirements.
  • Work with other business process owners, end-users and project team members to effectively implement ERP implementations, customizations and upgrades on schedule.
  • Develop, maintain and provide technical expertise in order to transfer knowledge to other team members.

Minimum and Preferred Entrance Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A bachelors degree in management information systems, Computer Science or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in systems analysis, configuration, and testing of enterprise applications. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience That Provides The Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior systems analyst experience in MUNIS and SmartGov.

Licenses or Certifications

  • Possession of (or ability to obtain within one (1) month of hire) an Arizona Operators driver license.

  • Common database query languages such as SQL.
  • Industry standards for development and solution deployment.

  • Programming common database query languages such as SQL.
  • Developing and training staff on the use of testing protocols.
  • Fit/gap analysis.
  • Supporting an ERP in the financial and HR subject matter areas.

  • Assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Troubleshoot and revise software applications to meet the specific business needs of the functional area.
  • Analyze problems and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Create, compose and edit written materials and develop and deliver presentations.
  • Listen and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people including users, managers, and vendors to address concerns and recommend alternatives.
  • Meet schedules and deadlines of the work.
