About the Role
Michelin has an immediate opening for a Business Support Controller who assists the Business Partner Controller in financial activities for the manufacturing operations. The Business Support Controller is responsible for costing, month-end reporting and analysis, and monitoring policies and procedures at our recently renovated, highly automated plant in Junction City, KS. This facility specializes in off-road rubber track systems for the agriculture industry.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end close activities, including inventory accruals, variance capitalization, standard accrual entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and update standard costs, including new part costing, monthly cost updates, variance reconciliations, forecasts, and annual standard cost setting.
- Partner with plant engineering to review and update routings and bills of materials as needed.
- Forecast raw material purchase price costs and analyze purchase price variances, freight, tariffs, and utilities.
- Prepare recurring reports, including weekly sales and open orders, annual census reporting, quarterly utilization and capacity surveys, and other financial analyses as assigned.
- Support external audits and internal control reviews by gathering information, completing analysis, and helping ensure compliance with company procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- 1–2 years of experience as a cost analyst, financial analyst, accountant, or similar role.
- Previous costing experience preferred, but not required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated teamwork and efficiency with multitasking, prioritization, and attention to detail.
