Business Reporting Analyst

About the role

The Business Reporting Analyst supports business reporting across the Finance team at Payactiv, a FinTech company in Silicon Valley. This role builds reliable reporting, improves visibility into key metrics, and helps teams understand business performance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards and reports for financial and operational metrics
• Own and improve recurring business reporting used by Finance and leadership
• Analyze financial data to identify gaps in accounts receivable and provide insights to improve customer service and outcomes
• Analyze deduction, confirmation, and payment data to identify trends, discrepancies, and reporting gaps
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support reporting needs
• Develop and maintain data models to ensure consistency across reports
• Investigate data discrepancies and work with teams to resolve reporting issues
• Partner with stakeholders to define metrics, reporting logic, and data definitions
• Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned across teams

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in business reporting, data analytics, or a similar role
• Strong SQL skills
• Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy
• Experience working with financial or operational data
• Ability to work with stakeholders and translate business needs into reporting

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Experience supporting Finance or FP&A teams, familiarity with payments, payroll, or transaction-level data, experience in fintech or financial services, experience with data modeling or ETL processes

Pay

• Salary range: $95k to $115k + Bonus
