About the role

We are seeking a Business Process Analyst to support a current-state operational assessment and process improvement effort across Operations, Order to Cash (O2C), and Procure to Pay (P2P). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with business, operational, finance, and technology stakeholders. This person should have foundational experience with process mapping, business analysis, documentation, and data review, along with the ability to translate stakeholder input into clear process artifacts and well-organized deliverables. This is a short-term consulting engagement of 8 weeks and will be paid on a 1099 hourly basis. Candidates must be able to work Central Time hours and be fully authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer. Please note that we do not work C2C.

Responsibilities

  • Support discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts.
  • Capture detailed notes, decisions, open questions, risks, and follow-up actions from stakeholder discussions.
  • Assist with observing and documenting how processes are currently performed across Operations, Order to Cash, and Procure to Pay.
  • Create and update current-state process maps, including swim lane diagrams that show activities, ownership, handoffs, decision points, systems, and dependencies.
  • Document roles and responsibilities across each process and maintain supporting process narratives.
  • Collect and organize information related to systems, data flows, reports, controls, metrics, and process handoffs.
  • Review existing process documentation, procedures, controls, reports, and other supporting materials for completeness and consistency.
  • Help identify manual activities, bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, redundancies, process gaps, and areas of complexity.
  • Maintain an inventory of process issues and improvement opportunities identified during the assessment.
  • Support the categorization of opportunities into quick wins and longer-term initiatives.
  • Assist with evaluating potential business impact, risk, complexity, dependencies, and implementation considerations.
  • Perform basic qualitative and quantitative analysis to support assessment findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and visually consistent documentation and presentation materials for business and leadership stakeholders.
  • Track deliverables, action items, document versions, and stakeholder feedback throughout the engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the senior consultant and client stakeholders to validate process documentation and incorporate revisions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, operations analysis, project coordination, or a related consulting environment.
  • Foundational experience documenting business processes, workflows, procedures, or requirements.
  • Experience creating or updating process maps, swim lane diagrams, workflow documentation, or process narratives.
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio or a comparable process mapping tool preferred.
  • Exposure to Order to Cash (O2C), Procure to Pay (P2P), Finance, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related functions preferred.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and synthesize information from interviews, documents, reports, and data sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, well-structured documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ask clarifying questions and summarize stakeholder input.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
