Responsibilities

  • Aid in collecting and organizing monthly expense data.
  • Analyze budgets and highlight discrepancies for review.
  • Update tracking sheets and internal logs regarding budget status.
  • Maintain oversight of ePerformance completion and follow up with staff as necessary.
  • Create and send reminders or communications to support deadlines and compliance.
  • Review and update organization charts for accuracy.
  • Prepare simple summaries or reports for leadership review.
  • Handle ad hoc requests as needed.

Projects

  • Liaise with MTA People (Human Resources) on recruitment and personnel actions.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Management and Budget on staffing and budget-related matters.
  • Process HR action forms, onboarding documentation, and recruitment updates.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly budget reports summarizing and explaining variances in salary, wage, and non-labor accounts.
  • Support data analysis, report creation, and process improvement efforts within Procurement Business Planning.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to work independently while being a team player.

Qualifications

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program with a minimum 2.5 GPA OR matriculated in a graduate program with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
  • Major(s) preferred: Accounting/Finance/Human Resources, or related fields.

Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and self-motivation.

Pay

$19.00 per hour for Undergraduate interns, $21.00 per hour for Graduate interns.
