About the role
The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations and contributes to the Group’s transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing, and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly offers with high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD employs more than 3,000 people from 70 nationalities across 60 sites.
Responsibilities
- Understand the oil & gas market and grow market share by developing profitable sales.
- Develop and implement sustainable, profitable business-development action plans.
- Build trustful, long-term relationships with customers.
- Identify and attend networking events to increase business awareness and generate new leads.
- Set up agreements, coordinate deployments, and track sales activities.
- Manage key accounts to maximize revenue from top clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with customers.
- Support all operational activities, certification of assets, and work with local Airgas filling facilities to ensure assets meet offshore standards (IMCA & BS12021).
- Participate in month-end close and ensure billing is completed on time.
- Assist the credit-control department with collections.
- Provide additional support as business needs arise.
- Create and execute a robust business-development plan to ensure profitable growth.
- Gather and share market intelligence and project updates with internal stakeholders.
- Detect opportunities to grow the business and expand the customer network.
- Collect sales results, visit reports, and maintain up-to-date client information.
- Monitor competitors’ actions.
- Lead regular prospecting to identify sales opportunities.
- Develop client prospects through prepared visits to existing, competitor, and potential customers.
- Network actively to uncover new sales opportunities.
- Maintain a clear vision of customer requirements, expectations, and informal needs.
- Manage external communications in line with corporate guidance.
- Establish and enhance relationships with new and existing customers.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders within the existing client base.
- Offer clients a “one-stop shop” solution for all their requirements.
- Negotiate contract extensions and new customer agreements with support from the Business Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development; technical background in the oil & gas industry is advantageous.
- Strong network; international exposure is a plus.
- Proven track record in securing new sales and new business.
- Ability to analyze the market, identify trends, and spot growth opportunities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organization and project-management skills.
- Financial awareness and ability to prepare budgets and forecasts aligned with business-development activity.
- Team player with leadership ability.
- Results-oriented, resilient in challenging customer situations, and able to motivate self and others.
- Ability to achieve results through both formal channels and personal/informal networks.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.
- Based in the Houston, TX or Broussard, LA area.
