Responsibilities

  • Own and manage ticketing and service workflows (e.g., Jira Service Management or similar tools)
  • Support and maintain internal systems (e.g., HRIS, reporting platforms, and data warehouses such as Rippling, Metabase, Snowflake, or similar)
  • Build and maintain basic SQL-based reporting (joins, aggregations, filters) to support internal teams
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements and automations to reduce manual work and operational friction
  • Support operational compliance efforts, including SOC 2 readiness, audits, and access control documentation
  • Partner cross-functionally with all functions to translate operational needs into clear, scalable solutions
  • Create and maintain clear SOPs and documentation for owned systems and workflows
  • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in operations, systems, IT operations, technical support, or a related role
  • Experience owning internal tools or workflows (not just supporting them)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and comfort querying data for reporting and analysis
  • Familiarity with SaaS tools, access management, and system integrations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
  • Ability to take ownership, prioritize effectively, and follow through independently
  • Clear communicator who enjoys partnering cross-functionally and documenting processes

Qualifications

  • Bonus Points: Experience with Jira Service Management, Rippling, Metabase, or similar tools
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or audit processes
  • Experience working in a fast-growing SaaS or startup environment
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or systems integrations

Pay

The base salary for this role ranges from $100,000 to $115,000 USD, with an additional bonus opportunity of $10,000 to $15,000 USD. Total compensation will vary based on factors such as location, relevant work experience, transferable skills, business needs and impact, and market conditions.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role at our Pencilworks office in Brooklyn, New York.
