Business Operations Manager

About the role

The Global Royalty Department is a Technology Operations and transformation department within Warner Music Group (WMG). Our objective is to keep the Warner Music Group’s royalty functions—artist and copyright—up to date on technology used to support business operations.

Responsibilities

• Co-responsible for the Program/Project Management of the EROS (artist royalty & Copyright) migration projects
• Conduct test phases (Unit Testing, System Integration Testing and UAT)
• Deployment
• Month-end Support: Monitoring jobs and resolving issues related to jobs (both Artist Royalties and Copyright)
• EROS Copyright configuration for new label acquisitions
• Execution of Projects related to new label acquisitions (sales migration, sales testing and implementation in Production which includes assisting with EROS Copyright configuration)
• Management of the Copyright application projects like new versions implementation
• Creation of test cases, execution of tests, conducting UAT, User’s training and deployment in Production
• Execution of the EROS Copyright Change Management process
• Support for Copyright Audits (data extract and data reconciliation)

Requirements

• 4+ years proven music industry and royalty functional experience, both artist and copyright
• Proven experience working with complex music and royalty data migrations
• Large systems development and implementation project management experience
• Experience managing 3rd party contractors and offshore development resources is highly desirable
• Strong analytical skills and ability to validate complex analysis and data reconciliations
• Demonstrated leadership in achieving shared objectives within a matrix organization, participating in cross-divisional projects and building effective cross-functional teams and relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of interfacing effectively with WMG royalty management and staff
• Able to be a team player who can cooperate/collaborate with business unit and Technology Teams
• Attention to detail
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic
• Able to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources
• Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, MS Office and Google Tools (Docs and Sheets)
• Certified PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
• International development and system implementation experience is highly desirable
• Advanced knowledge of Jira is highly desirable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Accounting, or related field; or 8+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience
