Responsibilities

  • Maintain resident trust fund accounts, including deposits, withdrawals, reconciliations, and payments made on behalf of residents.
  • Process resident-related medical expenses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage resident billing and accounts receivable for Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, managed care, and other payer sources.
  • Monitor and collect outstanding accounts receivable while maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, and third-party payers.
  • Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with federal, state, and facility policies.
  • Prepare financial reports and maintain organized business office documentation.
  • Collaborate with admissions, nursing, social services, and corporate departments to ensure accurate resident financial information.
  • Assist residents and families with billing questions and financial inquiries in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident financial information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional business office duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous Business Office Manager experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private pay billing, and medical assistance programs.
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of two (2) years of bookkeeping or business office experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business office software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
