Responsibilities
- Develop business strategies that drive growth, profitability, and competitive success in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
- May manage and develop 1-2 analysts; coach and mentor associates to develop and retain talent
- Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product-level modeling and analytics
- Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel; build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences and breakthrough technology
- Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis
- Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute against the product strategy; oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
- Work closely with colleagues across Capital One—including IT, Sales, Operations, and Finance—to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
- Demonstrate a proven track record of decision-making and problem-solving based on analytics, complemented by strong quantitative orientation
- Exhibit strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity with a tenacious, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
- Build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team and business partners across the enterprise; foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold partners accountable, and consistently deliver results

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field)
- A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, or Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in analysis
- 2+ years of experience in financial services
- 1+ year of experience in consulting
- 2+ years of experience in people management
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100
- Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000
- New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100
- Chicago, IL: $149,800 - $171,000
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
