Business Manager, COM Department of Otolaryngology

The Department of Otolaryngology is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff. The department is recruiting a full-time Business Manager. Responsibilities include day-to-day administration of specialized activities related to a business office (e.g. financial planning, financial analysis, target resource management and optimization for the College of Medicine and UC Physicians, Inc.), providing recommendations and advice to management or other groups on process-related topics, and conducting work procedures in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial activities of a varied business unit with a considerable income generation component.
• Support the compliance activities of the department, including research and management of an active clinical trials program, billing, etc.
• Monitor and manage UC Physicians, Inc. provider compensation activities.
• Coordinate annual budget preparation, perform budget analysis, and assist in the development of budgetary forecasts.
• Provide financial analysis for monthly variance reporting.
• Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis.
• May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field (seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement).
• Three (3) years of financial and administrative experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical physician group, medical school, university, research organization, or healthcare organization.

Work Environment
