About the role

The Business Manager acts as the primary liaison between Flying HIGH Inc. and the business community. This role focuses on creating awareness of Flying HIGH Inc.’s services and building strategic partnerships to develop customized employment pathways, including targeted recruitment, specialized training, and successful job placement for individuals completing the programs.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively outreach to employers to build long-term, trusting partnerships by understanding their workforce needs and wants.
  • Provide workforce solutions aligned with employer hiring needs by developing customized employment pathways, including innovative recruitment strategies and specialized training opportunities that result in successful job placement of candidates.
  • Manage the full hiring cycle for partner accounts, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates to ensure they meet specific employer criteria.
  • Plan and execute innovative recruitment events, such as hiring parties, mini-job fairs, employer spotlight events, information sessions, and other creative activities tailored to specific business accounts by utilizing all available resources through Flying HIGH Inc.’s integrated workforce services.
  • Recommend suitable workforce products or services offered by the Professional Development Center to enhance client satisfaction and meet placement targets.
  • Proactively outreach to community members and referral sources to educate them on employment opportunities provided by Flying HIGH Inc.’s integrated workforce services.
  • Use Apricot to document interactions with employers and job candidates and track placement outcomes.

Resources include but are not limited to:

  • Welcome Centers in Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties for candidate recruitment events and activities.
  • Professional Development Center Technical School to provide candidates with specialized skills training and GED assistance.
  • Career counseling to help candidates find the right career.
  • Case management assistance to help candidates overcome employment barriers.
  • SUD/MH outpatient services to help candidates overcome addiction.
  • Work acclimation activities to help clients adjust to the work environment.
  • Purpose account savings to help candidates pay court costs, achieve driver’s licenses, and purchase transportation.
  • Job developers to help candidates secure the right career placement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field, or five years of progressive work experience in workforce development.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
  • Effective communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge or experience within a social service, behavioral health, or vocational environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic record systems.
  • Able to pass a post-offer drug screen.
