About the role
The Business Manager will have full responsibility for customer growth, profitability, and solution development for Oxeno Products, with a focus on Vestoplast within Evonik Oxeno LLC in the Americas Region. This role covers direct responsibility for the USA and Canada, and a consultant role for Mexico and Brazil. The Business Manager will also serve as the main point of contact in the Americas for countries operating under the Direct business model from Germany, ensuring achievement of contribution margin guidelines for the assigned business line.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth in Volume, Sales, CM 1, and optimize Net Working Capital (NWC) for the product segment within the Business Line.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with key accounts and customers to gather insights on projected usage and future product requirements.
- Gain market and customer insights using the IMPAX approach.
- Report via CRM, market, and project reports on customer visits, growth opportunities, trends, innovation possibilities, competitor activities, and market pricing to support pricing strategy development.
- Manage all elements of the sales process, including offers, contracts, credit management, logistics, and conflict resolution.
- Negotiate contract terms such as quantity, payment, delivery conditions, and pricing within defined ranges.
- Oversee the recovery of accounts receivables and the dunning process.
- Support the development and implementation of Sales & Marketing strategies to increase profitable and sustainable sales in alignment with global strategy.
- Collaborate with supply chain, customer service, and marketing to ensure uninterrupted product supply based on customer forecasts.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Imports to maintain healthy inventory levels, manage stock, and oversee delivery conditions.
- Supervise import logistics, warehousing, distribution, and invoicing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering strongly preferred. MBA is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, direct customer sales, or technical sales within a multinational environment.
- Proven commercial (sales & marketing) track record, demonstrating ability to lead value-based customer sales and manage internal teams.
- Experience managing direct customer relationships to achieve commercial objectives.
- Willingness to travel 30%+ of the time or as needed.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with IT tools such as Office package, MS Dynamics, MS Teams, and others.
Pay
Pay Range: $111,800–$186,300 (specific rate determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment).
