Business License Inspector

About the role

The City of Conway is seeking a Business License Inspector to join their Finance team. Under the regular supervision of the Finance Director, this position involves inspecting and investigating City business establishments to ensure compliance with the business license ordinance.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections to ensure compliance with the City’s business license codes.
• Maintains records to ensure compliance with the City’s business license codes.
• Affords assistance to business owners with questions regarding business licenses and taxes.
• Monitors construction activities to verify accurate reporting of gross receipts.
• Conducts investigations on non-compliance issues.
• Performs administrative and clerical duties as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
• One to two years of experience in office operations.
• Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of business licensing and tax regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail.
