Business Intelligence Specialist

The Global Logistics group supports business transformation across the supply chain organization through SAP deployments/initiatives, RPA and BOTS initiatives, and data analytics.

This role guides the successful completion and delivery of solutions for difficult business challenges, performs complex data analysis, extraction, and delivery activities, and leads the execution of information and data. You will serve as a business focal, contribute to team/organization goals, and align complex Enterprise Applications with organizational business needs to drive significant process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Keep abreast of new system database technologies and data extraction techniques; make recommendations as appropriate.
• Interface with vendor and Corporate IT personnel to ensure application functionality meets specified requirements.
• Develop detailed test scripts and conduct rigorous tests to ensure application functionality and performance comply with business requirements.
• Provide specialized technical assistance and training to Business Intelligence team members.
• Support the development of reports with analytical processing systems, such as BOBJ, SQL, and COGNOS.
• Maintain current application-related information on corporate intranet, SharePoint, and/or SmarTeam (FAQs, process maps, troubleshooting guides, etc.).
• Develop and maintain web-based tools as required.
• Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure all work meets customer requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Preferred experience in Power BI and developing dashboards, including data modeling, design, and analytics solutions for executive presentations.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
• Experience building and supporting data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of KPI development, metrics management, and performance reporting.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and master data management principles.
• Experience with predictive analytics, trend analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
• Demonstrated success automating reporting processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience driving Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
• Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, databases, data extraction techniques, and data reporting/analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of how data works within Operations, Materials, Procurement, Quality, and/or Finance to provide information to the business unit.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple assignments and priorities.
• Strong understanding of data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, and usage of relational and dimensional data models.
• Proven knowledge of industry best practices.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact at Director and VP level.
• Proven track record of delivering significant business data solutions using SQL, EDW, BW, and BOBJ reporting techniques.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• 10 years of experience in Computer Science, IT, or related technical field with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
