Business Intelligence Engineer II, CDR Pillar 1 Strategy and DX

About the role
The AWS CDR Pillar 1 Strategy and DX Transformation team is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II (BIE) with superior analytical abilities, business acumen, technical skills, and communication skills. This role combines the strengths of a Business Intelligence Engineer with data engineering capabilities to build a scalable Data-Driven Supply Chain. The ideal candidate has end-to-end supply chain domain experience and can design automated data pipelines, develop ETL/ELT processes, and implement master data management frameworks.
Your work will directly impact decisions and strategy for the AWS Infrastructure Services organization and our customers. You will gather customer needs, mine large data sets, build visualizations, and generate insights to help senior leaders make critical business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards to support business needs.
- Collaborate with internal program and product owners, engineering teams to improve distributed and Supply Chain Management Systems Data.
- Apply deep analytic and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights from large and complicated data sets.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and AWS big data technologies.
- Design and implement master data management frameworks, including data governance, data quality standards, deduplication, enrichment, and synchronization of master data entities (e.g., Product Master, Vendor Master, Location Master, Item Master, Bill of Materials).
- Enhance analytical maturity by incorporating predictive and prescriptive analytics using machine learning and optimization techniques.
- Oversee and improve internal customer experience, production operations, including optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for scalability, managing code deployments, resolving bugs, and coordinating release management.
- Establish and maintain best practices for design, development, and support of data integration solutions, including comprehensive documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative field.
- 5+ years of data engineering experience, including designing, developing, and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL processes.
- 5+ years of SQL experience, including pulling data from databases and data warehouses, writing complex queries, and optimizing performance.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Stack technologies: Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
- 3+ years of end-to-end supply chain domain experience (planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, or procurement).
- Proficiency in Python and at least one additional modern programming language (Java, Scala, or NodeJS) for data processing, scripting, and modeling.
- 3+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with master data management concepts including data governance, data quality, and data stewardship.
- Experience with predictive and prescriptive analytics using machine learning and optimization techniques.
- Experience developing and implementing data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality and integrity across enterprise systems.
- Experience leading enterprise-level transformations, including data modernization initiatives and managing complex programs.
- Certified Data Management Professional.

Pay
USA, TX, Austin - $99,500.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually. Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
