Business Intelligence Engineer II, Alexa Devices Business Insights

Key job responsibilities

• Interface with product managers, data engineers and software developers, gather requirements and deliver complete analytics/reporting solutions.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of datasets, metrics, reports, analyses, etc. to drive key business decisions.
• Create data cubes and automated pipelines to power Tableau or Quicksight Dashboards.
• Help product teams with analytical deep dives to support MBRs.

About the team

The primary purpose of the Alexa devices business insights team is to drive understanding of Alexa customers’ behaviors and connect the dots from multiple data sources to unlock opportunities that drive both forward-looking product and feature roadmap, drive new customer acquisition, and increase customer engagement. By focusing on the three core principles of harnessing data, applying analytics, and interpreting insights, this team will provide the devices org with deep product actionable discernment that will scale to achieve sustained competitive advantage.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
