About the Role
The Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between our business units' needs and the technical execution of business intelligence projects. Utilizing Kanban, Agile Scrum, and/or Lean methodologies, you will ensure that our business units are equipped with the optimal data-related solutions to their challenges, facilitating strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. The BI Business Analyst helps accurately capture and document project requirements and ensures that all stakeholders understand the project's timeline and objectives. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment where communication and collaboration between technical teams and business units is key.
Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate closely with business units to understand their business intelligence needs, gathering and documenting precise requirements for BI projects.
- Solution Selection: Guide business units in selecting the right data-related solutions, evaluating potential tools and technologies such as SQL, Power BI & Power Query, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
- Requirements Interpretation: Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements for development by BI Analysts, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
- Artifact Production: Generate all necessary artifacts, including features, user stories, process diagrams, and data flowcharts, to support project development and implementation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Secure buy-in and engagement from all required stakeholders through continuous engagement, feature demonstration, and approvals as needed. In collaboration with the larger BA team, ensure synergy, alignment, and compliance across departments.
- Project Support: Act as a liaison between business units and the development team, ensuring developers have the information necessary to plan and execute sprints efficiently.
- Agile or Kanban Participation: Actively participate in Agile Scrum or Kanban ceremonies, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and outcomes.
Requirements
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Relevant work experience of 2+ years (required) or 5+ years (preferred).
- P&C insurance experience (preferred).
- Exposure to Business Intelligence tools/procedures.
- Azure DevOps experience, or similar (preferred).
Schedule
In office hybrid work requirement – location specific.
Pay
Annual Salary: $71,750.00 - $129,150.00. The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
