Business Intelligence Analyst - Data Engineering

About the role

The Medpace Data Engineering team is growing rapidly and is focused on building a data-driven culture across the enterprise. The team uses data and insights to drive increased strategic and operational efficiencies. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will hold a highly visible analytical role that requires partnership with staff across the Medpace organization.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and innovative workplace while gaining experience and exposure to advanced BI concepts from data warehousing to AI.

Responsibilities

• Apply analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to develop Medpace’s analytics and BI capabilities.
• Work with complex data sets, conduct deep data analysis, and design long-term solutions.
• Partner with data engineers to implement data architecture and design to support complex analysis.
• Conduct complex analysis and proactively identify key business insights to assist departmental decision-making.
• Design and develop key metrics, reports, and dashboards to drive insights and business decisions that improve performance and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Analytics, Information Systems, IT, or a similar field.
• Experience in business intelligence or data engineering; advanced SQL and Python preferred (open to entry-level candidates).
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical skills or a strong desire to learn fundamental data initiatives (SQL, Python, Dimensional Modeling, etc.).
