About The Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Waymo, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports key decision-making processes within the company. You will leverage your expertise in SQL, data analysis, and business intelligence tools to create robust reporting systems, dashboards, and data pipelines. Your work will directly influence areas such as driving quality, safety, and reliability by providing accurate, timely, and insightful data-driven reports. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Engineering, Operations, Product, and Regulatory departments, you will ensure that complex data insights are communicated effectively to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role within a technology-driven environment
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including experience with window functions, UDFs, and complex joins for large datasets
• Experience managing and querying large-scale datasets using BigQuery, Redshift, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of data pipeline development and scalable data infrastructure
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Data Studio
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear narratives for stakeholders
• Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on anticipating business needs

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain advanced reporting infrastructure, including data pipelines and dashboards, to support decision-making in driving quality, safety, and reliability
• Develop, define, and govern key performance indicators (KPIs) and core metrics across various teams
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of metrics through clear data definitions and high-quality data pipelines
• Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, Operations, Product, and Regulatory teams to facilitate accurate and comprehensive reporting
• Prepare and present analytical content to Waymo leadership, highlighting insights and trends
• Conduct deep-dive analyses into data trends to inform and drive team goals and strategies
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and proactively address potential data challenges

• Competitive base salary ranging from $168,000 to $207,000 USD, commensurate with experience and location
