About The Role

The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 at Humana plays a vital role in supporting Service Fund Operations by designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions. This position involves working extensively with SQL, Data Bricks, and the UDAP (Unified Data Access Platform) environments to facilitate data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving business operations through accurate analytics and reporting, enabling strategic initiatives and operational excellence. The role includes supporting system reporting enhancements, testing, and managing data migrations from mainframe and on-premises SQL servers to cloud-based environments. The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline data processes, develop automation tools, and ensure data integrity across multiple sources, ultimately contributing to the organization's goal of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis
• 3+ years of advanced SQL query development
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formatting
• Experience with Azure, Data Bricks, SQL, and business intelligence tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate into technical solutions
• Experience assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis
• Knowledge of healthcare-related data and systems, preferred
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools, preferred
• Understanding of database and data system migrations, preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data solutions utilizing SQL, Data Bricks, and UDAP environments
• Create and optimize ETL pipelines to consolidate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Develop automated reporting tools and dashboards to support business operations
• Support ad hoc data requests using analytical tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Power Platform
• Collaborate with business, IT, and provider relations teams to streamline data processes and improve reporting capabilities
• Assist in system reporting enhancement projects, including requirements gathering and user story development
• Develop and maintain data models for user acceptance testing, focusing on data quality and consistency
• Participate in data migration activities from mainframe and on-premises SQL servers to cloud environments
• Conduct data research and troubleshooting to resolve processing issues
• Support continuous system testing, validation, and documentation efforts
