About the role
To develop students' business academics and skills, promote a safe learning environment, and encourage parental involvement.
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers school curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods as needed.
- Instructs students in responsible citizenship and subject matters as per applicable laws and regulations.
- Continuously updates professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, and professional meetings.
- Maintains accurate and complete student records and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Safeguards student conduct and establishes behavioral standards for a functional learning atmosphere.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate educational resources and equipment.
- Supervises students during school activities, including those involving school transportation.
- Administers standardized tests as part of the district's testing program.
- Utilizes NIET Best Practice Instructional Rubric to plan lessons and participates in professional development.
Requirements
- BA degree in education.
- Current Indiana Teacher’s License in the applicable subject area.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and action plan formulation.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, including differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
- Proven ability to report work regularly and punctually.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
- Ability to meet professional teacher education requirements.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to operate job-related equipment.
- Physical demands: standing for extended periods (Very Frequent), lifting up to 25 pounds (Seldom), carrying up to 25 pounds (Occasional).
- Mental demands: very frequent ability to read, communicate, and operate job-related equipment.
