Business Development Specialist, Transportation
About the role
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a Business Development Specialist focused on the Transportation vertical. The primary responsibility is to build long-term value through developing relationships that foster loyalty among transportation industry decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research using various methods to inform strategy and direction
- Add and update key accounts and partners’ data and profile information within the STAR CRM system
- Log all interactions with contacts in the STAR CRM and understand past, present, and future educational projects
- Create and implement a business plan outlining annual goals
- Collaborate with the marketing department to develop and execute vertical-specific collateral and event plans, including dinners, sponsorships, and other initiatives
- Work with the sales team to nurture key account and partner relationships
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills
- Write case studies, white papers, and other editorial content as requested
- Attend industry-related tradeshows, conferences, partnership summits, and open houses to interact with executive-level decision-makers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant industry experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products
- CRM software proficiency
- Proven customer development skills with C-Suite experience preferred
- Strong presentation skills
- 2+ years of successful PSS outside sales experience or other industry-related successful outside sales experience with proven results to achieve and exceed targets
- Experience selling in a matrix organization and navigating through executive levels of large multi-level customers
- Knowledge of working with architects, engineers, school districts, colleges, and universities to secure specifications
- Network of strong contacts within the education vertical in the Western half of the country
- Travel required
- PSP Certification (or willingness to obtain), and other certifications as required
Qualifications
