About the role
We’re looking for a Business Development Specialist, SMB to help build and scale our outbound motion at Steer. This role is focused on uncovering lucrative new business opportunities, facilitating product demos, and guiding customers through a streamlined sales process.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a high volume of calls and outreach to identify and engage decision-makers and economic buyers.
- Develop a deep understanding of our SaaS product and its features to effectively communicate value during online product demos.
- Employ a consultative approach to understand prospects' needs and tailor presentations to their specific pain points.
- Maintain meticulous records of sales activities and customer interactions in our CRM to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Qualify opportunities and collaborate closely with the broader sales team on strategy and deal progression.
Requirements
- Must have 1+ years of sales experience, specifically in outbound prospecting or business development.
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and activity metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with comfort in phone-based outreach.
- Experience performing product demonstrations and consultations.
- Ability to commute to the Waltham, MA office.
Qualifications
- Industry experience in automotive, home services, or blue-collar sectors is a plus.
- Experience selling software or working in a high-growth startup environment is a plus.
- Experience using CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce to manage opportunities is a plus.

Pay
$90k OTE ($60,000 base salary + commission)
Schedule
This role is 5x a week onsite in Waltham, MA. There is the potential for a hybrid working schedule after 3 months of tenure.
