Business Development Representative (May 2027 Salisbury University)

About the role

Trinity is looking for team-centric, yet individually driven sales people who thrive in a fast-paced environment and love the challenge of overcoming objections. In this role you will start in inside sales, cold calling and pursuing leads for new customers to ship with Trinity. As you build your book of business, you will transition into an account manager role, servicing those customers’ ever-growing transportation needs. The position offers unlimited potential for commission on top of a base salary.

Responsibilities

• Cold call and pursue leads for new customers.
• Build and manage a book of business, transitioning into an account management role.
• Serve as the one-stop-shop for all transportation needs, overcoming objections and providing top-notch service.
• Analyze and interpret general business data and reports, and write professional business correspondence.
• Utilize CRM and BI systems, along with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Requirements

• Superior interpersonal and communication skills; problem solving and decision making.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role preferred but not required.
• Experience in logistics preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM and BI systems is helpful.
• Ability to learn new software and computer systems.
• Disciplined organizational and multi-tasking skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrates the ability to connect with others on a personal level to build trust.
