Business Development Representative
The Role
As a BDR at Rebar, you own the front door of revenue: finding the right prospects across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, and booking qualified meetings directly onto Account Executives' calendars. Our growth depends on a steady stream of the right people getting into the right conversations, and you're the one making that happen every day on the phone.
You'll run Rebar's proven cold-open playbook, qualify hard before you book, and hand off clean, well-documented meetings that set the AE up to win. The ramp is fast: you'll be booking real meetings in your first few weeks. And this isn't a dead-end seat. BDRs who perform have a real, defined path to Account Executive.
What We're Looking For
- Real cold-calling or outbound experience, in any industry; comfortable with high call volume and frequent rejection
- Resilient: doesn't fold at the first brush-off, stays genuinely curious about what's actually going on with a prospect
- Coachable: takes direct, specific feedback on call technique and applies it immediately
- Comfortable in early-stage environments: scrappy, creative, and fast
- Exceptional verbal communication; builds rapport and credibility fast with a skeptical, operator-led buyer
- Strong plus (shortens your ramp): Prior BDR/SDR experience at a B2B SaaS or workflow-software company
- Experience selling or working in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or an adjacent trades/construction segment
- Familiarity with a modern dialer (Nooks, Hubspot, or similar)
- Worked in construction and then moved into sales or construction-tech
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: competitive base + per-meeting bonus, plus a ramp-period bonus in your first month.
- Equity: meaningful grant, aligned with your background
- Benefits: medical, dental, vision
- Perks: free lunches and dinners
About Rebar
We are building the AI operating system for commercial HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing. Commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing firms run billion-dollar construction projects on workflows that still look like it’s 1985. Construction is 10% of GDP and still massively underserved by software. We are changing that. We recently raised a $14M Series A from leading construction tech investors and are entering our next phase of growth. We are building a set of AI native products that will define how this industry operates.
