About the role

We are seeking a creative and passionate Business Development Representative to join our team. You will work with our Enterprise Partnership team to research and identify companies and contacts within our target market to set up meetings to talk about Function. You'll work on a cutting-edge product that enables our members to access their health data in real-time, and you'll be challenged to make a difference in people's lives. The ideal candidate is comfortable building from scratch, navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, working cross-functionally to get the job done, and thriving in a fast-paced environment. As an early member of our team, your contributions will play a critical role in shaping the future of our member experience as we scale from currently thousands of members to millions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales: Collaborate closely with Enterprise Partnerships reps to generate meetings and build pipelines through coordinated outreach.
  • Target Account Profiling & Expansion Strategy: Profile Top 1,000 accounts across prioritized industries to define appropriate expansion strategies. Focus on midmarket and enterprise size accounts.
  • Research & Data Enrichment: Source and verify contact information (C-suite, VP, Director level HR & Benefits) using ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other tools, and keep Salesforce CRM up-to-date.
  • Digital One-to-Many Outreach: Build, test, and optimize multi-channel cadences (email, phone, social) for net-new prospects.
  • Campaign Execution: Work with Marketing to execute email blasts, webinar invitations, and event follow-ups; segment lists and ensure proper tagging in the marketing automation platform.
  • High-Level Qualification: Qualify inbound and outbound prospects at a high level—gathering basic fit and interest data—and schedule sales-qualified meetings for Enterprise Partnerships reps.
  • Data-Driven Growth: Be a key component in ensuring our CRM data drives the strategy for our future growth: track outreach performance and iterate on messaging.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years in a BDR/SDR or similar high-velocity sales role (B2B SaaS or digital health preferred) in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience prospecting into mid-market and large enterprise accounts and fueling sales pipeline growth.
  • Hands-on expertise with Salesforce (data entry, reports, dashboards) and prospecting tools (ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator, SalesLoft).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication—able to craft clear, compelling outreach and maneuver through ambiguity.
  • A curious, results-oriented mindset: you’re always looking to learn, give/receive feedback, and relentlessly pursue goals.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a growing team.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience at an early-stage or fast-scaling company.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience with a product sold to employers as an employee benefit.
  • Experience in diagnostics or preventative health.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot) and CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Basic understanding of employee benefits or healthcare tech landscape.

Core Values

  • Ruthless Prioritization: We don't let perfect get in the way of progress. We move quickly to drive value, not perfection. We prioritize what drives impact. We never compromise on standards of excellence.
  • Member-First, Always: We design and deliver like we're caring for someone we love. We create clear, actionable, human experiences. We prioritize responsiveness, peace of mind, and outcomes. We empower members with truth, clarity, and care.
  • One Team, Moving Fast: We are aligned in purpose, prioritization, and speed. We gather diverse perspectives to make informed decisions. We clear paths for each other and move fast together. We communicate clearly and respectfully, rallying around shared goals.
  • Radical Ownership, Relentless Execution: We don't just ship — we own outcomes and drive results. We act with urgency and precision. We anticipate, initiate, and follow through. We meet challenges with grit and pragmatism. We embrace new tech to deliver better outcomes.
  • Mission Over Ego: We are ruthlessly aligned to our mission — and leave ego at the door. We disagree and commit. We don't tolerate politics or withholding information. We operate with honesty, transparency, and respect.
  • Sustained Integrity in Every Detail: We earn trust by obsessing over accuracy, quality, and clarity in everything we do. We prioritize clinical precision — data must be right. We sweat the details because outcomes depend on them.

Benefits

We value our team at Function and offer a competitive salary and benefits package, flexible working hours, and a dynamic work environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged.
