Business Development Representative
About the role
This role focuses on growing all-new revenue and a customer base for adjacent products and services that are outside our traditional catalogue. The Business Development Representative calls, emails, and otherwise connects with inbound customer leads and creates outbound communications for external target new accounts or established accounts when appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify new targets focusing on growing customer revenue in commercial business vertical markets such as airports, clean rooms, hospitality space, medical buildings, laboratories, agricultural facilities and other related facilities.
- Develop a strong understanding of Boston Commercial Solutions newly identified product and service offerings.
- Generate new business opportunities by conducting outbound prospecting activities and securing meetings with decision-makers at target accounts.
- Work with internal subject matter experts to generate timely, professional project quotes for new and existing customers.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and liaison between our different divisions as directed for customer needs and requests.
- Conduct quote follow-up for assigned customers and projects.
- Follow Boston Commercial Solutions CRM processes and procedures.
- Provide feedback to sales and marketing support personnel to generate proper communication templates, messaging, and other streamlined customer communication efforts.
- Monitor applicable industry trends and share information and updates as needed with the sales team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations or related field and/or equivalent experience is required.
- Proven experience in annual new revenue targets in excess of $1M.
- Direct experience in B2B selling by telephone, email, LinkedIn, and other commonly used tools.
- HubSpot and/or relevant direct experience with CRM as a prospecting tool.
- Strong customer relationship management skills, including the creation of customer messaging and excellent verbal skills.
- Team player who works in collaboration with the company as well as customers exercising strong communication and follow up skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated success as a self-starter working independently.
- Ability to learn and articulate technical product information.
- Demonstrates a goal-oriented and metrics-driven mindset.
- Comfortable and resilient in the face of rejection; balancing patience and persistence.
- Certified in Google Workspace.
- Experience in construction processes, facilities management, or architectural design is a plus.

Benefits
Up to 10% travel will be expected in this role. Occasional overnight or out of state travel may be required.
Pay
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position often requiring at least 40 hours a week with additional hours needed at times. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday day shift hours, but also requires flexibility including days, nights and weekends as needed.
