About the role

AutoWeb is hiring a driven Business Development Representative to join our in-office team in American Fork, UT. In this high-activity sales role, you’ll connect with automotive dealerships, build a strong pipeline, and close new business for our lead generation marketplace. We’re an AI-forward company, and AI literacy is part of how every team works smarter, moves faster, and solves meaningful business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and contact automotive dealerships through calls, email, LinkedIn, video meetings, and in-person conversations.
  • Run the full sales cycle: qualify prospects, present AutoWeb’s marketing solutions, handle objections, negotiate terms, and close new dealer accounts.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline, keeping CRM records accurate, current, and actionable.
  • Own activity, revenue, and performance goals with urgency, focus, and consistent follow-through.
  • Learn AutoWeb’s product portfolio so you can tailor your pitch to each dealer’s needs and speak with confidence.
  • Partner with account management, client success, and marketing to support smooth onboarding, strong retention, and a better customer experience.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and dealership needs to help improve our sales approach.

Requirements

  • High-Volume Outreach: You will spend a significant portion of your day (approx. 60–80% of your time) on the phone conducting high-volume outbound prospecting and cold calling to generate new dealership and client leads.
  • Comfort with Volume: You thrive in a fast-paced, high-activity environment and are entirely comfortable initiating conversations with new prospects who are unfamiliar with our brand.
  • Sales drive: You’re motivated by outreach, closing deals, and building momentum every day.
  • Strong communication: You can make a cold call feel warm and write follow-ups that are clear, concise, and professional.
  • Organization and follow-through: You manage time well, track details carefully, and never let a hot lead go cold.
  • Coachability: You’re open to feedback, willing to try new approaches, and always improving your craft.
  • Curiosity: You’re eager to learn our products, the automotive dealer market, and how AI can help you work more effectively.
  • Team mindset: You bring positive energy, professionalism, and a desire to win individually and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of sales experience, ideally in inside sales, outbound sales, business development, or another customer-facing sales role.
  • Experience with short sales cycles and the ability to close efficiently by phone, email, or video.
  • CRM experience, such as Salesforce or a similar platform.
  • Interest in selling marketing or technology solutions to automotive dealerships; dealership or dealer group experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfort using AI tools to increase productivity, improve workflows, and strengthen sales execution.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, resilience, and the ability to prioritize the work that drives business results.
  • You’ll be AI-native—not “AI-aware.” You’ll design, own, and evolve agentic workflows that dramatically expand your leverage.
