Business Development Representative
About the role
We are seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to play a critical role in driving AbsenceSoft's growth by identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities. In this individual contributor role, you'll generate leads through outbound outreach and partner closely with Account Executives to build a strong, high-quality pipeline of potential customers. This role is well suited for a motivated, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth B2B SaaS environment. This is a hybrid, Denver, Colorado based role with in-office expectations of 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound prospecting through email, phone, social media, and other channels to generate qualified discovery meetings within your aligned territory
- Partner closely with aligned Account Executive(s) to prospect and develop new business opportunities
- Research and understand the HR and leave management challenges of prospective organizations
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, leads, and opportunities within the CRM system
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to refine messaging, campaigns, and outreach strategies
- Participate in sales meetings and strategy sessions to align efforts with broader revenue goals
- Continuously build knowledge of AbsenceSoft's solutions, industry trends, and competitive landscape
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly lead generation and pipeline development targets
- Operate in a highly compliant environment and assist in maintaining company security and compliance controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or lead generation within SaaS or technology environments preferred
- An enthusiasm for a hybrid work environment, with approximately 2 days per week of in-office presence in our downtown Denver location
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools such as Outreach, ZoomInfo, or LinkedIn
- Experience or familiarity with HR technology, leave management, or compliance-related solutions
- Strong organizational, research, and time management skills
- Understanding of outbound prospecting strategies and lead qualification methodologies
- Ability to analyze sales data to optimize outreach and engagement strategies
- Experience prospecting into multiple buyer personas within mid-market or enterprise organizations
- Experience leveraging AI, automation, or modern sales tools to improve productivity and outreach effectiveness

Pay
Base pay for this full-time (non-exempt) position is $55,500 + variable comp + benefits. The expected On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role is $84k - $88k. Final compensation is determined based on a candidate's relevant experience, skills, education, and geographic location. The pay range for this role is $52,000 - $56,000 USD per year (US National).
