Business Development Officer - Solano, SF, Marin & Napa Counties
Redwood Credit Union is seeking a Business Development Officer for the Southern Region in Northern California, covering American Canyon, Mill Valley, Napa, Novato, San Francisco, San Anselmo, and San Rafael. The ideal candidate will reside in one of these areas and have pre-established relationships, pipelines, and networks within the region.

Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and attend sales and sales-like activities and events to drive business to The Redwood Group.
- Prospect and close new business for The Redwood Group.
- Execute Membership drives, sales events, and presentations at Select Employer Group (SEG) locations and business development events.
- Contribute to the development of programs, promotions, and campaigns to market RCU products and services to SEGs and other audiences.
- Participate, sponsor, and support SEG events such as benefit fairs and appreciation events.
- Establish partnerships with employers, businesses, and organizations to promote Redwood Group products and services.
- Maintain SEG database; ensure data accuracy and record sales activities.
- Prospect new, targeted SEG relationships and complete enrollment paperwork.
- Initiate sales calls, visits, and mailings to existing and new SEGs.
- Coordinate schedules and attendance with Redwood Group managers for local SEG and business development events.
- Mentor and support Branch Managers with business development activities.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of the Business Development Strategic Plan and annual budget.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and administrative tasks.
- Maintain and develop relationships with Centers of Influence, business partners, and organizations to drive new business.
Business Relations
- Actively participate in relevant local Chambers of Commerce, business groups, and committees.
- Work with area Branch Managers to ensure regular RCU attendance at Chamber and networking events.
- Attend luncheons, mixers, and other networking opportunities.
- Suggest and coordinate business development-related advertising and marketing within Chambers and business groups.
- Coordinate and execute business expo events and similar activities.
- Investigate, recommend, and coordinate sponsorship opportunities through local Chambers and business groups.
- Speak or present at appropriate and relevant events.
- Assist the Regional Manager with internal sales efforts, including promotions, communication, recruiting, and training.
- Assist other RCU departments with events or functions as needed.
Requirements
- Advanced skill in the sales cycle process and business development tactics.
- Knowledge of Redwood Credit Union and other financial institution products and services.
- Understanding of business, financial conditions, and economic trends in the assigned territory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/Contact Management/Sales Management software.
- Effective event coordination and execution skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to direct and coordinate the work of others during business development events.
- Ability to prepare and perform presentations for small and large audiences.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to act independently and confidentially with discretion and tact.
- Ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.

- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or a similar field, plus a minimum of five years of outside sales experience in the financial services industry. Previous credit union experience is preferred. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
Pay
Base starting range: $88,330 to $116,379 annually, commensurate with experience. This position is also eligible for a 15% geographical differential. The base salary range is based on scope, responsibilities, work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
