About the role

Phillips Corporation is searching for a visionary leader to redefine how manufacturing technology and sustainment services power the future of air and space dominance. This is not a standard IT sales or incremental account management role—it's about revolutionary manufacturing capability, operational readiness, and strategic mission impact. We seek an elite strategist—either a former senior Air Force officer (O-5 or higher) or an accomplished defense Business Development executive with a proven Air Force focus—who instinctively understands the operational realities, acquisition lifecycles, and strategic priorities of the USAF and Department of Defense.

Your mission: position Phillips as the indispensable partner for advanced manufacturing, turning high-level mission alignment into long-term, high-value contract vehicles that directly elevate force readiness. As a Business Development Manager, you'll act as a peer, trusted advisor, and force multiplier to senior Air Force leadership. You'll bring operational authority and experience along with the industry credibility required to translate complex defense budget trends, operational gaps, and force modernization initiatives into high-impact growth strategies. You'll embed clear win themes and breakthrough value propositions into every pursuit because you aren't merely tracking opportunities; you are actively shaping requirements, anticipating emerging air base resiliency needs, and driving our advanced capabilities directly into core modernization and sustainment pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the end-to-end growth strategy—from early-stage market shaping and intelligence-driven pipeline execution to executive-level summit engagement and strategic account expansion.
  • Leverage deep-rooted understanding of defense procurement pathways, federal acquisition regulations (FAR, DFARS, OTAs), and the inner workings of the Air Force enterprise.
  • Shape requirements and drive advanced manufacturing capabilities into core modernization and sustainment pipelines.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of US Air Force business development or sales experience with a focus on manufacturing, additive, 3D printing, CNC, or machining technologies.
  • Strong network within the DoD/DoW, focused on the US Air Force.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong PowerBI and CRM skillset.
  • Unparalleled knowledge of defense procurement policies and federal regulations (FAR, DFARS, GSA, etc.).
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, including conferences, trade shows, and other networking events.
  • Must be a US-born citizen due to the nature of the work and customer requirements.
  • Engineering and manufacturing knowledge along with CAD/CAM software knowledge is a plus.

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Car and cell phone allowance
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Training & Development
  • Work From Home

Pay

Compensation at Phillips is based on the market and your individual level of contribution. The expected pay range for a qualified person in this role is between $160,000.00 and $180,000.00 annually plus bonus opportunities.
