Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across targeted industries such as commercial, education, manufacturing, institutional, and other relevant sectors
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans aligned with company objectives
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and close
- Track pipeline activity and forecast revenue to support business planning
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Identify early-stage and long-term project opportunities and drive engagement throughout pre- and post-proposal phases
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, partners, and industry professionals
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding goals and delivering tailored solutions
- Prepare and present proposals, ensuring clear communication of technical capabilities and value
- Maintain consistent follow up and post-project engagement to support repeat business
Technical and Project Collaboration
- Partner with internal engineering teams to provide technical input during client discussions and project pursuits
- Support project teams to ensure client expectations are met and projects are successfully delivered
- Evaluate technical feasibility and commercial viability of potential opportunities
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer license preferred
- Background in structural engineering, business development, or a combination of both within the AEC industry
- Experience working with specialized structural systems such as cold-formed steel or industrial applications is beneficial
- Technical Capabilities:
- Familiarity with structural design and analysis tools such as Revit, RISA, CFS Designer, or similar platforms
- Understanding of structural systems, including considerations for seismic, wind, and extreme conditions
- Awareness of market trends, products, and service offerings within structural engineering
- Professional Skills:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to a variety of audiences
- Prowess in building relationships and developing business opportunities
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience using CRM systems and standard business software
- Location: Hybrid or remote, supporting a Denver-based team
- Travel: Limited travel required, approximately 10 percent
