Business Development Manager, Product & Platform
About the Role
Notion's Business Development team accelerates product distribution and platform growth through partnerships. This role has the potential to drive outsized scope in Notion's journey—partnering with some of the best companies in the world to turn momentum into first-in-kind deals and scaled programs that result in delightful experiences for customers and growth for Notion.
As Business Development Manager, you'll be the ecosystem partner to our engineering and product teams, launching and deepening integrations with frontier intelligence platforms and the tools our customers already use. You'll shape our product roadmap, drive adoption of new APIs and developer tools, and design growth strategies that generate new user demand. You’ll own relationships with strategic partners like OpenAI, Anthropic, Slack, and Google.
This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person.
Responsibilities
- Scale the Notion platform: In close collaboration with partners and Notion’s product and engineering teams, identify, evaluate, and facilitate the launch of new product integrations. Project manage partner-centric launches—from onboarding and implementation to go-to-market and post-launch tracking.
- Drive partner strategy: Own and grow relationships with select strategic partners, becoming their voice within Notion. Identify, evaluate, and implement new product and co-marketing opportunities that create outsized value for partners, Notion, and our shared customers.
- Be the best partner to the best partners: As an internal advocate for Notion’s partners, ensure their needs are reflected in our roadmap and planning. Provide ongoing support to grow strategic relationships.
- Accelerate distribution partnerships: Source, evaluate, and launch first-in-kind partnerships that drive new user demand for Notion. From negotiation to launch and performance tracking, turn successful deals into scalable programs based on adoption and revenue signals.
Requirements
- 7+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, product, or growth.
- Strong product instincts and experience working closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams.
- High agency and comfort operating in ambiguity; ability to drive clarity where a playbook doesn’t yet exist.
- Operational rigor and ability to execute end-to-end, managing complex cross-functional projects.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to tell a clear and compelling story in docs, decks, and in person.
Nice to Haves
- Experience as an early go-to-market or product hire at a fast-growing company.
- Fluency working with ISVs and across developer ecosystems.
- Experience building partnerships across multiple regions (AMER, EMEA, APAC).
