About the role
The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in advancing EDCO's sales and brand presence in the Fargo, North Dakota area. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this position focuses on increasing sales and revenue by managing relationships with distributors, builders/remodelers, contractors, and architects.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with 2-step and 1-step distributors, ensuring they maintain proper product mix, marketing tools, and inventory levels.
- Meet regularly with existing customers to understand their business needs and evolve.
- Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with customers and distributor(s).
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities with distributors and new customers.
- Investigate and address inventory or product quality issues with distributors.
- Develop a target list of opportunities and prioritize them systematically.
- Work directly with the Regional Sales Manager to capitalize on product conversion opportunities.
- Source sales opportunities through contractors, architects, and design-build firms.
- Promote EDCO's brand awareness through participation in trade events, dealer shows, architect meetings, and professional organizations.
- Create and present product knowledge presentations to ensure all sales teams understand EDCO's products and competitive advantages.
- Develop a sales goal strategy with the National Sales Director and manage travel and entertainment expenses within the territory.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills to achieve sales goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
- 3+ years of sales experience
- A desire to build mutually beneficial relationships with customers
- Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers
- Self-motivation and organization to manage budgets and territories
- Intermediate or higher PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of an ERP system and CRM (preferred)
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the designated region
- Valid driver's license and approved driving record meeting company insurance requirements

- Experience in CRM and ERP systems is preferred

Pay
- $75,000 - $85,000 base salary
- Up to $30K in monthly commissions

- Can be remote within the region extending into North Dakota and North of Interstate 94 in Minnesota
