Business DevelopmentFull-time

About the role

A relationship-driven business development role supporting engineered cold-formed steel framing systems, fabrication capabilities, and design support services. The Business Development Manager develops project and account opportunities, supports customers as a technical resource, and coordinates with internal teams from initial opportunity identification through project completion. This is a technical business development opportunity with an engineered manufacturing and fabrication organization, not a traditional transactional sales position.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop project and account opportunities within assigned markets through prospecting, referrals, networking, industry events, and other relationship-development activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with architects, engineers, developers, owners, general contractors, framing contractors, distributors, and other project stakeholders to support long-term account development and business growth.
  • Manage opportunities from initial identification through project completion, including customer follow-up, internal coordination, pipeline and forecast management in CRM, and achievement of established business development, account growth, and sales objectives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for TSN's cold-formed steel framing systems, engineered building products, fabrication capabilities, and design support services.
  • Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, bid documents, and technical project requirements; identify appropriate TSN applications; and support product selection, material take-offs, estimating, quotations, proposals, specification support, design-assist activities, and constructability reviews as applicable.
  • Provide technical presentations, demonstrations, and educational programs that communicate TSN product value, engineering support, manufacturing capabilities, fabrication expertise, and technical service offerings.
  • Collaborate with engineering, estimating, project management, manufacturing, and customer service teams to coordinate customer and project requirements.
  • Travel within assigned territories for customer meetings, project development, and industry events.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of cold-formed steel framing engineered building systems, fabrication processes, or manufactured construction products, with relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, construction documents, shop drawings, bid documents, and technical project requirements, with an understanding of estimating, material take-offs, project pricing, specification development, design-assist, or value engineering.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and communicate technical product information to technical and non-technical audiences using strong consultative selling, presentation, negotiation, customer service, and relationship-management skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication workflows and how production capabilities, project scope, schedule, and delivery requirements affect customer solutions.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in business development, technical sales, account management, construction products, manufacturing sales, estimating, or project-based construction sales preferred.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple accounts, projects, priorities, and deadlines, work independently, collaborate across departments, and apply strong written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using sales technology or AI tools to support productivity and customer engagement is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with architects, engineers, developers, contractors, distributors, or construction supply organizations is preferred.

Work Schedule & Travel

Full-time, Monday–Friday, in office. Regular travel within assigned territories is required for customer meetings, project development, and industry events. Occasional overnight travel may be required based on territory and business needs. A valid driver's license is required.

Who Thrives Here

  • Build long-term customer relationships while developing project and account opportunities.
  • Connect technical project requirements with TSN product, fabrication, and design-support capabilities and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organize multiple accounts, projects, priorities, deadlines, and follow-up activities while collaborating across engineering, estimating, project management, manufacturing, and customer service.
  • Value responsible stewardship of customer relationships, commitments, information, time, and organizational resources.
  • Embrace continuous learning and professional growth.

Company Culture & Values

TSN's leadership strives to honor God through the way they serve employees, customers, and the community. The culture, leadership, and approach to manufacturing excellence are grounded in the conviction that every person is created in the image of God (Imago Dei) and therefore possesses intrinsic dignity, worth, reason, responsibility, and untapped potential. This belief shapes the commitment to treating every employee, customer, vendor, and community member with respect, humility, integrity, and excellence. TSN is unapologetically a People First organization — not as a slogan, but as its operating system.

The mission is to deliver high-quality, precision-built steel fabrication and manufacturing solutions through a vertically integrated production model while building a culture where people have the opportunity to grow and flourish personally, professionally, intellectually, and, where meaningful to them individually, spiritually, with excellence and joy — all for the glory of God and the good of those they serve.

The hiring process is intentionally human and rigorous, starting with "Who are you becoming?" rather than "Can you do the job?" It includes a People First culture-fit reflection, interviews rooted in character, stewardship, and self-awareness, and evaluation through the desire to grow and flourish personally, professionally, and intellectually with excellence, humility, and joy. The process is designed to honor candidates as people — not reduce them to a resume fitting a role — with hiring criteria evaluated through observable behaviors and demonstrated qualities, not religious affiliation.

TSN operates from value-driven leadership principles, including Christian faith traditions held by the organization, while remaining an Equal Opportunity Employer to individuals of all beliefs. Qualified applicants of all faiths, beliefs, races, ethnicities, national origins, sexes, ages, disabilities, veteran statuses, and backgrounds are welcome. Employment decisions are made based upon qualifications, character, professionalism, performance, and organizational needs — never upon an individual's religion, creed, race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected classification under applicable federal, state, or local law. No employee or applicant is required to share any religious belief or participate in religious activity as a condition of employment.

Team members find leaders who joyfully invest intentionally in personal and professional mastery, teammates who respect and protect one another, standards that push toward excellence, a culture where humanity is never ignored, and a workplace where work has meaning. The organization believes people are the mission.
