Business Development Manager, Gear Exchange
Sweetwater, the nation's number one online retailer of music instruments and pro audio gear, is seeking a knowledgeable, driven, and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join our growing Sales team. This role focuses on recruiting new sellers and building strong client relationships to fuel Marketplace growth across the Gear Exchange platform, while improving the website experience for buyers and sellers through expert merchandising and curation.

In this position, you will recruit new sellers, develop high-value client relationships, and enhance the Gear Exchange platform through strategic merchandising and procurement of notable gear. Responsibilities
- Recruit new sellers by researching and identifying those who are a good fit for Gear Exchange across the United States.
- Make outbound calls to pitch the benefits of selling on Gear Exchange and onboard new sellers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value sellers to improve retention.
- Develop a "white glove service" program for larger sellers and VIPs.
- Attend trade shows and events to recruit new sellers.
- Curate and maintain a list of sellers deserving of spotlighting.
- Identify opportunities to include sellers in marketing efforts.
- Improve listings by addressing issues with titling, imaging, and categorization.
- Procure notable gear for exclusive marketing opportunities.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years of experience in music instrument retail/sales, customer experience, or a related field.
- Extensive expertise in music instruments and pro audio gear.
- Strong customer service experience, with the ability to create exceptional experiences for customers and sellers.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to problem-solve and balance multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.

Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position at our headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN, with evening and weekend shifts required.
