About the role
Gradiant is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive early-stage engagement in the data centre sector across the United States. This role focuses on originating opportunities and building strategic relationships, with an emphasis on front-end business creation—identifying emerging projects, establishing connections with key decision-makers, and positioning Gradiant early in the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and originate new opportunities across hyperscalers, colocation providers, developers, and EPCs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the data centre ecosystem
- Develop early-stage engagement strategies to position Gradiant in upcoming projects
- Map stakeholders, track project pipelines, and create visibility on emerging opportunities
- Initiate and lead commercial discussions, working closely with internal teams to shape solutions
- Represent Gradiant in industry forums, events, and client engagements to expand market presence
Requirements
- Proven experience in business development, origination, or commercial roles, preferably in infrastructure, energy, or industrial sectors
- Solid understanding of the data centre ecosystem (hyperscalers, colocation providers, developers, EPCs) and how projects are initiated and developed
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities early and build strategic relationships with key decision-makers
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex, consultative sales cycles
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and networking skills
- Experience in water or wastewater treatment is preferred, particularly in industrial or mission-critical environments
- Ability to quickly grasp and position technical solutions in a client-facing context
