About the role
Blue Kangaroo PACKOUTZ, a leader in contents restoration, is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our commercial and residential growth across the Twin Cities metro area. In this role, you will be the primary face of our contents restoration team—building lasting relationships with insurance adjusters, property managers, and mitigation partners, while serving as the initial technical touchpoint on loss sites. You will combine strategic B2B sales with hands-on field scoping.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong networks with commercial property managers, insurance adjusters, third-party administrators (TPAs), and independent restoration contractors across the Minneapolis–St. Paul area.
- Respond promptly to loss leads (fire, water, mold) to evaluate pack-out needs, capture digital inventories/photos (using Encircle/Matterport), and document initial scopes of work.
- Sign authorization agreements on-site with property owners or adjusters to secure the loss and lock in project scopes.
- Partner closely with our internal Xactimate estimating team, delivering complete field inventory data and scope details for rapid line-item pricing and adjuster submission.
- Represent the company at regional industry events, trade associations (e.g., IFMA, BOMA, insurance adjuster meetings), and networking groups.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of successful B2B sales, account management, or business development experience (experience in disaster restoration, contents, insurance claims, or commercial property management preferred).
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable learning and utilizing modern field documentation technology (Encircle, Xactimate/XactAnalysis knowledge is a plus, but full line-item writing is handled internally).
- Communication: Exceptional face-to-face, verbal, and written communication skills with strong empathy and professional diplomacy during high-stress property losses.
- Licensing & Travel: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel daily across the Twin Cities metro area.
