Business Development Manager -— Commercial Art and Décor
Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager — Commercial Art and Décor is responsible for net-new logo acquisition, pipeline development, and project-based revenue across the commercial interiors market. You will work with the people who specify, design, and procure art on a scale, and you will position Sensaria as their single-source partner of choice. We're hiring a hunter. This is a field sales role built for someone who thrives on opening doors, building influential relationships, and converting high-value opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships. You'll own a territory and spend your time where it matters most, in the market, at trade events, and client sites, developing the relationships that drive large-scale art and décor programs for Sensaria.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- New Business Development & Prospecting
- Own and aggressively grow a pipeline of new commercial accounts across office, retail, and hospitality market segments.

- Prospect through multiple channels; cold outreach, trade events, referral networks, design showrooms, and industry associations to identify and engage qualified opportunities.
- Build relationships with key specifiers and influencers at every stage of the commercial project lifecycle, including initial concept, specification, budgeting, and procurement.
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans with defined target accounts, engagement timelines, and revenue milestones.
- Convert qualified leads into closed accounts through a disciplined, consultative sales process tailored to complex, multi-stakeholder buyers.
- Channel and Influencer Relationship Management
- Build and own a robust network of channel relationships with art consultants, interior designers, architects, general contractors, and procurement / FF&E teams who specify or procure commercial art and décor at scale.
- Position yourself as a trusted resource and subject-matter expert for the trade community, offering insight on art curation, product capabilities, pricing structures, and fulfillment logistics.
- Develop preferred partner agreements and referral relationships with key design firms, procurement agencies, and hospitality brand standards teams.
- Maintain regular, structured touchpoints with your influencer network to stay top-of-mind for upcoming projects and renovation cycles.
- Project-Based Sales Execution
- Source and manage complex, large-scale opportunities including multi-property hotel rollouts, commercial office buildouts, new-build and renovation programs, branded environment packages, and custom art commissions.
- Lead multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial specification through quoting, sampling, creative alignment, and close coordinating internal resources at each stage.
- Develop accurate, compelling commercial proposals and presentations that articulate Sensaria's value proposition relative to project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Navigate negotiations involving price, lead time, customization, and fulfillment logistics with confidence and commercial acumen.
- Ensure seamless handoff to internal production, art, and customer success teams following close, maintaining client visibility through delivery.
Additional Tasks And Responsibilities
- Market Representation and Brand Building
- Represent Sensaria at industry trade shows, design week events, hospitality conferences, and on-site client presentations.
- Actively participate in relevant industry associations and design community groups to elevate Sensaria's visibility in the commercial market.
- Gather and share competitive intelligence, market trends, and customer feedback to inform product, pricing, and go-to-market strategy.
- Act as a brand ambassador, consistently representing Sensaria's capabilities, quality standards, and commitment to creative partnership.
- Pipeline Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date pipeline and activity data in CRM, including account profiles, opportunity stages, projected close dates, and revenue forecasts.
- Deliver regular pipeline reviews and territory updates to sales leadership, flagging risks and opportunities proactively.
- Hit and exceed new-business revenue, margin, and new-logo targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Contribute to sales planning processes including territory mapping, quota-setting, and market opportunity sizing.
Professional Experience And Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Design, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Background in commercial art, wall décor, custom framing, FF&E, furniture, signage, environmental graphics, or a related commercial interiors product category.
- Existing network within the hospitality, commercial real estate, or design and architecture communities.
- Experience working with national or multi-property hospitality brands, ownership groups, or management companies.
- Familiarity with the print production process including file specifications, substrates, finishing options, and production lead times.
Specific Skills And Competencies
- Proven outside / field sales experience with a demonstrated track record of opening new commercial accounts and closing large, project-based deals.
- Direct experience within the hospitality ecosystem including hotels, hospitality design firms, hospitality procurement / FF&E, brand standards teams, or selling into hospitality renovation and new-build projects.
- Demonstrated success selling to or through the trade art consultants, interior designers, architects, general contractors, or procurement teams operating in commercial interiors.
- Fluency in complex, consultative, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and the ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities at various stages.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to structure and negotiate large, project-based deals involving pricing, customization, timeline, and logistics.
- Self-directed, hunter mentality with demonstrated ability to build and execute a territory plan with minimal oversight.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within territory for client meetings, site visits, trade events, and industry engagements.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and disciplined forecasting and pipeline management habits.
