Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize strategic account planning and CRM tools, such as Monday.com.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and clients, expanding the company’s profile and market reach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineering consultants, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
- Propose and foster strategic partnerships with engineering firms, including potential competitors.
- Evaluate existing partnerships to identify future business opportunities.
- Manage key client relationships while working to establish new ones.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, customer service, and client relationship management teams.
- Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships to support increased lead generation and market share.
- Monitor emerging markets and industry trends; recommend new services as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of business development and/or sales experience with a proven track record in developing long-term client relationships.
- Prior experience in the water and wastewater construction industry is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to regularly report to the Vice President of Business Development – Water, providing updates and receiving guidance.
- Capable of self-management and potentially leading future business development staff.
- Willingness to travel to local and regional job sites and offices throughout the Southeastern U.S.; overnight travel required for conferences and meetings.
