The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Manager based in Houston, Texas, to join our team. This role involves driving sales growth of Symmons products by developing and managing target accounts, working with the sales force, and engaging with key industry associations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a list of target accounts, create account plans, and secure specifications for Symmons products through targeted accounts.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to assist in account development and pipeline management.
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan outlining growth strategies and identifying areas of support needed.
  • Build cross-functional relationships internally and externally to communicate business opportunities.
  • Proactively target Owner/Developer's entire portfolio using a partnership and consultative approach.
  • Discover and identify potential new target accounts, and understand and address customer needs.
  • Engage with additional influencers in the supply chain such as wholesalers, contractors, engineers, etc.
  • Manage Symmons products, write specifications, and maintain detailed information.
  • Develop service-related programs with identified ownership accounts, including buying agreements, rebate programs, and service commitments.
  • Plan and budget specific customer entertainment events to enhance Symmons' presence and business relationships.
  • Participate actively in key industry associations and networking events.
  • Show high-level technical product and industry knowledge, including familiarity with industry codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field required.
  • 5+ years in product/services related sales, with emphasis on major Owner/Developer groups and key industry associations.
  • Experience with plumbing customers preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to interact with various customers (Owner/Developer, Wholesaler, Contractor, Engineer) and all levels of organization.
  • Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Microsoft Outlook, and data warehouse sales reporting systems.
  • Excellent planning and analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated 'pull-through' selling skills.

The pay range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting and does not guarantee a specific wage. Actual pay will depend on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
