About the role

Raphael & Associates is a nationwide third-party claims administrator (TPA) and field adjusting firm seeking a Business Development Manager with 10+ years of experience in insurance business development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a business development strategy working closely with the Head of Business Development.

  • Follow up on new client referrals received by the Executive team.

  • Proactively network, identify, qualify, and close opportunities with insurance carriers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and brokers.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships across various insurance organizations.

  • Lead proposal development and collaborate with internal teams to ensure competitive positioning and profitability.

  • Create activities to enhance engagement with new potential clients.

  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and at targeted outreach events.

  • Generate business leads from new and existing clients through proactive business development activities.

  • Stay updated with insurance industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes and share updates with leadership.

  • Provide strategic reports on new business development progress.

  • Provide recommendations to management for new clients.

  • Lead end-to-end transaction process including opportunity evaluation, due diligence, and negotiation.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a successful start to a new client.

  • Drive measurable growth across territory.

  • Provide a consultative sales approach.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in business development, sales leadership, or strategic partnerships within insurance.

  • Proven success in securing new clients and exceeding revenue targets.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Experience with Salesforce, CRM systems and pipeline forecasting.

  • Willingness to travel to events.

  • Ability to translate market insights into actionable growth strategies.

  • Executive presence and cross-functional leadership skills.
