Position Overview

RAM Construction is seeking a Business Development Manager with a hunter mindset and entrepreneurial spirit for our Los Angeles territory. The BDM will be a key player in the company’s next phase of growth, helping us continue to Build Bold in the commercial construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting (calls, emails, LinkedIn) and in-person networking.
  • Stay current on the latest market news and dynamics in commercial construction and leasing; use this knowledge to identify opportunities and target decision-makers.
  • Research accounts to map ownership, development plans, and decision-making structures.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities in HubSpot, ensuring consistent activity and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, architects, landlords, and construction managers.
  • Represent RAM at industry events, lunches, site visits, and other networking opportunities to increase visibility and credibility.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and the BD team to align outreach campaigns with brand-building efforts.
  • Work closely with internal Project Management teams to ensure client expectations are met once projects move forward.
  • Use LinkedIn and other platforms to promote RAM and position yourself as a resource knowledgeable about the industry.
  • Accurately log all outreach, prospect, and client information in HubSpot daily.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction or commercial real estate.
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry — Ground-up, Tenant Improvement, Retrofits — and the roles of brokers, developers, architects, and project managers.
  • Proven success in new client acquisition through outbound prospecting and pipeline development.
  • Ability to stay current on industry news and market dynamics to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills; able to secure meetings with and influence decision-makers.
  • Experience using HubSpot (or similar CRM) to manage pipeline and outreach activity.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit — self-starter who is resourceful, proactive, and motivated by building new business and delivering results.
