About the Role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) identifies new business opportunities, builds and nurtures client relationships, and drives revenue growth. This role expands the company's market presence through strategic partnerships, customer acquisition, and innovative growth strategies. The BDM collaborates with other departments to align strategies with executive management's vision and provide leadership consistent with company values.
Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and target potential clients and business opportunities in alignment with company goals.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business growth targets.
- Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to close deals.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to support lead generation and brand awareness.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends, competition, and customer needs.
- Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences.
- Track, report, and manage business development performance metrics using CRM tools.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and business cases for new opportunities.
- Provide feedback to internal teams on market demands, product enhancements, and potential opportunities.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Must drive a minimum of 5,000 miles annually to be eligible for Motus.
- Valid and current driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
