Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and qualify new business opportunities specifically within the Tampa/Clearwater area engineering markets and sectors.
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and relationship management.
• Lead pursuit strategies, involved in go/no-go decisions, and client engagement.
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Understand client needs and align engineering solutions to meet business and technical objectives.
• Maintain client satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat or expanded work.
• Support market analysis, competitive intelligence, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Attend select industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and partners.
• Represent the company professionally and contribute to its positive image in the industry.
• Identify and engage with potential clients, including government agencies, private firms, and contractors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in Civil, Environmental, Transportation or Landscape.
• 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles within an engineering, technical, or construction-related environment.
• Strong understanding of engineering services, project delivery models, and technical solutions.
• Proven track record of developing new business and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience with public and/or private sector clients.
• Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint system and proposal management tools.
• Established industry network within the Tampa/Clearwater markets.
