About the Role
MSX is seeking a bpro Business Development Manager who will be thoroughly familiar with the U.S. automotive aftermarket. The primary focus will be on selling bpro products to OEM Dealerships, independent installers, and fleets. This position requires full-time travel.
Responsibilities
- Assist Dealers in inventory management and analysis of bpro products, along with outside sales support for assigned Dealerships.
- Travel to Dealers in advance to sell and support bpro products.
- Coordinate and communicate marketing and sales programs on behalf of Dealers, including technician training, technical support, local product promotions, and Dealer-funded details.
- Exercise initiative to follow up on sales calls and "close" sales as authorized by Dealers.
- Understand high-level OEM Dealer organization and aftermarket strategy.
- Submit daily sales call reports including number of planned/actual customer visits, sales results by product, and description of call/next steps using TrackIT and Excel.
- Provide recommendations on product line expansion, pricing opportunities, and market trends from advanced analytics and data reporting systems.
- Work with Mopar Headquarters and Field personnel to coordinate efforts and identify open markets in need of coverage.
- Maintain minimum sales contacts:
- One "face-to-face" contact with the assigned dealer every 30-45 days.
- One phone contact with every servicing dealer weekly.
- Participate in standard meetings with OEM Business Center personnel.
- Return all emails and phone calls within 24 hours.
- Equipped with a company laptop; client will provide access to internal network and additional program support components.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years professional experience in the automotive aftermarket and/or wholesale parts environment, with specific Stellantis dealer experience preferred.
- Experience in wholesale automotive parts sales, management, and customer requirements.
- Prior aftermarket territory sales management, training, coaching, and consulting preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly interpersonal with team-building and participative management skills.
- Proficient with PC, Dealer/IRF Management Systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or minimum 7 years equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with automotive operations: Manufacturer, fleet, installer, mechanical parts wholesale, dealership parts management, and aftermarket service departments.
- Basic understanding of automobile repair and technology.
- Experience with management of and selling wholesale automotive parts.
Skills
- Language Skills: Professional-level communication abilities in English and any other languages required by the project client.
- Computer Skills: High level of proficiency with PC and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; demonstrated competency in Mopar/Dealer/Distributor specific software applications.
- Strategic Skills:
- Ability to perform GAP analysis of current operating practices and develop a comprehensive action plan based on findings.
- Comprehensive experience in wholesale parts business planning and marketing highly preferred.
- Tactical Skills: Ability to execute outlined program components such as training, reporting, merchandising, marketing, group facilitation, and product demonstration.
- Process Skills: Proficient in all areas of process development, mapping, evaluation, and execution.
- Reasoning Ability: Capable of formulating business decisions based on a logical reasoning approach and offering solution-based outcomes.
- Self-Starting Abilities: Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a business environment with limited management oversight and demonstrated teamwork abilities.
Physical Demands
- Physical capabilities necessary to accomplish assigned tasks, including:
- Assembling merchandising displays.
- Delivery of marketing materials.
- Multi-day travel.
- Extended periods of physical activity during training seminars.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. without sustaining injury.
Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Up to 90% overnight travel required.
- Able to accommodate working from a home office location.
