About the role
As we rapidly scale in the U.S., we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team and help shape the future of the electric grid - the largest and most complex machine ever built. This is an opportunity to help define our commercial strategy, not simply execute an existing playbook.
Your focus will be expanding where and how envelio's platform is applied across the U.S. utility market. By having a deep understanding of utility procurement, regulatory drivers, and operational challenges, you'll identify opportunities that shape our market strategy and inform future product direction.
Location
Hybrid - Boston, MA preferred, or Remote (Eastern Time Zone).
Travel
Travel required as needed
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Drive the scope expansion of envelio's platform and identify where the regulatory and procurement environment creates real demand
- Track and analyze regulatory proceedings and industry trends and translate those into commercial opportunities that align with envelio’s strategy
- Build and manage a strong partner network to accelerate market development and build holistic solutions for utilities
- Work with the product and engineering teams to shape how the platform evolves for the US market - translating field intelligence into roadmap input and ensuring new use cases land with the right capabilities
- Develop a point of view on market segmentation: which utility types and which geographies represent the strongest near-term opportunities, and where the platform's proven capabilities create the clearest competitive advantage
- Support active sales pursuits with market context, competitive intelligence, and use-case framing when needed - but your primary job is upstream of the pipeline, not inside it
What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills)
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in the utility industry or grid tech, ideally in the space of planning, engineering, interconnection, data
- Strong commercial, regulatory, and technical understanding and the ability to bridge those
- Clear communication, structured thinking, organization, and good product sense
- Drive to build and execute with speed
- Strong collaborator who can build relationships internally, with partners and utilities
- Be willing to travel, if needed
