Business Development Manager
About the role
Join E Tech Group, one of the largest engineering and system integration firms in the United States, providing IT automation and control solutions for over 30 years to industries including Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Metals & Mining, Warehousing & Distribution, and CPG/Food & Beverage. As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will spearhead new business acquisitions, forge strategic client relationships, and craft expansion strategies to amplify our market presence. This role requires deep insights into the engineering solutions landscape, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to negotiate and close high-impact deals.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and cultivate new business opportunities, build lasting relationships with prospective clients, and nurture and expand our existing customer portfolio.
- Master solution selling by actively listening to client challenges and positioning yourself as a trusted advisor, leveraging E Tech Group’s cutting-edge engineering solutions.
- Position E Tech Group as a Main Automation Partner by qualifying new applications, accessing new plant locations, and developing strategic relationships at corporate levels.
- Craft and close deals by collaborating with internal teams to develop compelling, value-driven technical proposals and aggressively pursuing and securing project orders.
- Maintain accurate forecasts of bookings and opportunities, ensuring an optimal mix of services and materials using tools like Salesforce for CRM and sales enablement.
- Develop and manage key alliances with vendors and subcontractors to meet evolving market demands and enhance our offerings.
- Deliver regular updates to senior leadership on business development initiatives, progress, and market trends to inform strategic decisions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, a technical field, or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of sales experience in engineering solutions, industrial automation, or controls industries, with an established network of professional contacts, preferably in Food & Beverage and Pharma industries.
- Proven track record of consistently surpassing sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- In-depth knowledge of industry trends, operational challenges, and technical solutions utilized by customers.
- Proficiency with CRM and sales tools, including Salesforce (primary CRM and enablement platform), ZoomInfo for lead intelligence, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for targeted prospecting.
- Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.
Travel
Expect 40% to 60% travel to engage clients and opportunities across the region.
Pay
Competitive base salary with full expense reimbursement (including mileage at current IRS rates) and an uncapped commission structure that rewards from the first dollar at order booking, regardless of project timelines.
